Is Prayer For the Courts a Prayers Requirement?

When we talk about prayers, we talk about praying to get something from God - either good or bad, or whether we have blessings and favors or not. But did you know that when we pray to God, we are talking about something more than simply requesting blessings and favors? We are talking about a process, an act of love and devotion, which if done right can bring about God's answer, which will make everything possible in this life - both material and spiritual. Prayers is the service of divine relationship with God through the expression of sincere thoughts and desires and value to Him and also the personal service of faith and trust to Him through the presence of the Holy Spirit.

There are several common questions asked in the prayer process, one of which is "what is the answer to my prayer?" Answers to this question can be found in the Word of God, through the instruction of the Holy Spirit and in the teachings of the Church Fathers. A good example of this would be found in Ps 11:4-5 where the Lord says, 'if you ask Me a thing, I do not ask a thing; only what is better for you'. This teaches us that we should not be trying to find our own meaning in prayer but rather putting our complete trust and confidence in God. This is a great way to pray and to receive blessings from our heavenly Father.

One common question that preaches to people on a regular basis is "are you really asking God for a miracle?" People use this as an opportunity to ask God for something that is outside of His promises and plans. Many times, the answer is yes but most times it is no. People who want to know if they are indeed asking God for a specific type of miracle should ask themselves, "am I preparing myself for a court case? "

Sometimes when we are going through the court case process we will be prayer for the opposing party or the opposing attorney. Instead of thanking God for whatever He may give us or whatever He may decide to do, we should instead begin to say a simple prayer before we go into the courtroom. We can say our petition in Latin or Greek or even in our own native tongue.

The bottom line is that God's answer to your Prayers is ultimately dependent upon what is best for you. If you ask Him for a miracle and it is granted, you are to thank God for what you were able to accomplish. However, if you only ask for His presence and you obtain it, then you should thank him for what you were able to do by using your free will and your own efforts. This would be to show your complete humility and submission before the almighty and holy God.
