The Haryana-Himachal Partnership
There are several projects that can be undertaken as a part of Haryana-Himachal partnership. One such project is the construction of a dam at the Hathnikund barrage to store water flowing from the mountains. This project can help save crops during flood-like conditions. Khattar has already applied for a no objection certificate and survey work will start soon. There are many other projects in the pipeline that will help the two states work together.
The AAP has decided to focus on Haryana and Himachal Pradesh as part of its campaign strategy for the 2019 election. The party recently held a roadshow in Shimla and announced it would contest the municipal as well as Assembly polls in the state. The AAP is betting that a victory in Punjab will help its chances in Haryana and its "Delhi model" will resonate with voters in other constituencies.
As a result, the AAP is seeking to create a narrative about countering the BJP and Congress in the elections. It hopes to capitalize on the low morale of the Congress. While the Congress and BJP have dominated the political landscape in Himachal Pradesh, the Left Party and CPM each have pockets of support. The Left party has only one legislator in the state's assembly. With so many people in the state, the AAP has a unique opportunity to win this important election.
The Akalis want to reclaim the Raja Ranjit Singh-type kingdom, which they lost to the Punjabi government. However, it is unclear whether the Akalis will be successful in their goal. With the help of Himachal Haryana, the Akalis have managed to take over part of the East Punjab area. Gopi Chand Bhargava was the first Chief Minister of the province. In the meantime, Haryana has been losing its place as a political powerhouse in the Punjab.
The Himachal-Himachal partnership has reached another milestone. The two states have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to build a dam in Himachal Pradesh. It also intends to set up a Saraswati heritage development board in Himachal Pradesh. These projects are a part of the Haryana-Himachal partnership strategy. They are pursuing mutual benefits for their people.
In Haryana, the Sarasvati river is considered one of the most sacred rivers by Hindus. It is believed that it originated from the Kapal tirth in the Himalayas west of Kailash. Sarasvati is metaphysical and formed a confluence with sacred rivers at the Triveni Sangam. Saraswati has been praised in Rig Veda hymns as the supreme goddess.
